The Best of St Ives Picnic
The sun’s out, the basket’s full and the coast path’s calling – it’s picnic time. We recently gathered the best that St Ives has to offer from its most covetable shops, to show you how to eat under the sky in style – from cosy picnic blankets to mouthwatering cakes, portable chopping boards to lust-worthy backpacks and some of the tastiest and most finger-friendly food offerings around, all washed down with a healthy dose of St Ives Gin.
There’s nothing quite like getting out for an afternoon of lounging somewhere special, so the St Ives Liquor Co. team – apart from Mum and Dad, well, someone needs to hold the fort – took advantage of the first sunny day of 2019 and went for it. This spot on Man’s Head overlooks Porthmeor beach, where one side offers unlimited horizon gazing while the other casts your sight back to the surfers as they take on the tides by the shoreline.

Bottle opener (this takes priority on the list)
Enamel plates and tumblers aka. unbreakable
Chopping board, or find a handy rock like Timmy has below
Wicker bags that hold their shape, so your strawberries don’t get crushed
Sharp knife, we use a fancy Japanese one we pilfered from our restaurant kitchen
Rugs, throws and blankets for sitting on and cosying up in
